Social media reacts to Texans new uniforms

Houston Texans unveil new uniforms after 22 years, featuring fresh designs paying homage to the original while adding modern twists.

It's been over two decades since the Houston Texans last underwent a major transformation. The last time they made a change was when they were first introduced to the league.

Fast forward to Tuesday afternoon, and Houston is ushering in a new era in the AFC South with a brand new look.

The Texans recently revealed their four new uniforms right before the 2024 NFL draft, showcasing a fresh aesthetic for the reigning division champions. The designs vary significantly from one another, as the team aimed to cater to a wide range of demographics.

While the home and away uniforms still feature the familiar blue helmet and bull logo, there have been some notable updates. The Deep Steel Blue color scheme is a nod to the original color introduced in 2000, now with "TEXANS" emblazoned over the logo and a bull motif on the sleeve.

The Liberty White uniform remains largely unchanged, except for the addition of a traditional stripe on the sleeves that transitions into a bullhorn-inspired design at the front.

In terms of alternates, Houston has revamped its popular Battle Red look with a more vibrant all-red design. The red helmet now boasts a chrome finish and face mask, inspired by the city's car culture. Additionally, the helmet features blue horns stretching across the sides, replacing the traditional bull's head.

The Texans have also introduced a new "Tribute to H-Town" uniform with a secondary logo. This design sees the return of the bull, alongside a light blue "H" with a red outline representing "H-Town." Despite the legalities surrounding the use of the color blue, much to the chagrin of Tennessee Titans fans who still hold the rights to Oilers' property following the team's relocation in 1996.

The updated uniforms bring a fresh vibe to Houston, following a successful 11-8 season and division title. With a standout quarterback in C.J. Stroud and a promising young edge rusher in Will Anderson Jr., the team is poised for continued success on the field.

While players and coaches have embraced the new look, the ultimate test lies with the fans. How will they react to the revamped uniforms and the dawn of a new era for the Houston Texans?
