Palace Health Update Kate Middleton Prince William Skips Event Personal Reasons Conservative Angle

Kate Middleton is recovering from surgery, as Prince William missed an event. King Charles is also undergoing cancer treatment.

Kensington Palace recently provided an update on the health of Kate Middleton, following her husband Prince William's absence from a memorial event due to a "personal matter." According to NBC News, the palace reported that the "Princess of Wales, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, continues to do well."

The Prince of Wales was initially expected to attend a memorial service for his godfather, the late King Constantine of Greece, as noted by CNN. However, Prince William made a call to the Greek royal family to inform them of his inability to attend.

In a statement, Kensington Palace said, "The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress." The palace also expressed gratitude to the entire team at The London Clinic, particularly the nursing staff, for their care.

In addition to Prince William's absence, the prince's father, King Charles III, was also not in attendance at the memorial service due to his ongoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. Buckingham Palace previously announced the King's cancer diagnosis following a hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement.

The statement from Buckingham Palace revealed that the King has commenced a schedule of regular treatments and will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual. The King expressed gratitude to his medical team for their swift intervention and remains positive about his treatment, looking forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.

The decision to share the King's diagnosis was made to prevent speculation and provide public understanding for those around the world affected by cancer. The King ascended to the throne in September 2022 following the death of his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was 96 years old.
