Irsay Colts Mental Health Awareness Month Kick Off

Colts launch "Kicking The Stigma" campaign for Mental Health Awareness Month, raising funds and awareness to end mental health stigma.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the Indianapolis Colts are stepping up to make a difference. The Irsay Family and the Colts are reviving their mental health campaign, "Kicking The Stigma," to raise awareness and break down the stigma surrounding mental illnesses.

The goal is to shed light on the stigma often attached to mental illnesses, particularly in Hoosiers in Indiana, and to provide funding to 501C3 organizations dedicated to mental health across the state. Director Brett Kramer explains that through grants and personal contributions from the Irsays, a total of $30 million has been committed to expand treatment, research, and awareness efforts in Indiana and beyond.

The funds will support organizations in the state that are tirelessly working to address mental health issues on a daily basis. Fans can also contribute to the cause by purchasing merchandise, such as hoodies, tees, wristbands, pins, and tumblers, with all proceeds going towards "Kicking The Stigma."

Various events will be held throughout May to raise awareness, including Mental Health Awareness Night at Victory Field and Mental Health Action Day on May 16. These events aim to encourage individuals to take action and prioritize mental wellness for themselves, their loved ones, and their communities.

Kicking The Stigma is a significant initiative for the Colts organization, as they are dedicated to creating positive change within their communities through mental health awareness. The players are also actively involved in the cause, serving as ambassadors and sharing their own struggles to inspire others.

On a global scale, hundreds of nonprofits, public agencies, and leaders are coming together to shift the mental health culture from awareness to action. Free resources, such as an employer toolkit and event organizing platforms, are available at www.MentalHealthisHealth.us. Together, we can work towards breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting overall well-being for all.
