Wolves dominate Suns, lead 3-0 in franchise history

Anthony Edwards leads Timberwolves to 3-0 playoff series lead against Suns. Minnesota dominates with strong performances from Gobert and Towns.

The Minnesota Timberwolves dominated the Phoenix Suns in a thrilling 126-109 victory on Friday night, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the playoff series. Anthony Edwards led the charge with an impressive 36 points and nine rebounds, while Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns contributed with 19 points and 14 rebounds, and 18 points and 13 boards respectively.

The Timberwolves showcased their depth as Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Mike Conley, and Naz Reid all made significant contributions to the team's success. Alexander-Walker scored 16 points, with 12 coming in a crucial third quarter, while Conley added 15 points and seven assists, and Reid chipped in with 13 points.

Despite a strong performance from Bradley Beal, who scored 28 points, and solid contributions from Devin Durant and Devin Booker, the Suns were unable to contain the Timberwolves. Eric Gordon added 11 points to the Suns' effort.

With Game 4 of the series set for Sunday night in Phoenix, the Timberwolves are on the brink of making franchise history by securing their first-ever playoff series sweep. Edwards, who scored 18 points in the final quarter, tied Kevin Garnett for the franchise record with seven postseason performances of 30 or more points.

Minnesota's impressive shooting display, with a 49.4 percent field goal percentage and 13 made 3-pointers, was too much for the Suns to handle. Phoenix shot 46.1 percent from the field and made 11 of 28 attempts from beyond the arc.

Despite a late surge from the Suns in the fourth quarter, the Timberwolves maintained their lead and closed out the game with authority. Alexander-Walker's sharpshooting from behind the arc in the third quarter was a key factor in Minnesota's victory, as they outscored Phoenix 36-20 in that period.

Overall, the Timberwolves' balanced scoring attack, strong defensive effort, and clutch plays down the stretch proved to be too much for the Suns to overcome. As they head into Game 4 with a chance to sweep the series, Minnesota will look to continue their impressive form and make a statement in the Western Conference playoffs.
