Broncos New Uniforms: Latest Move in Ownership's Franchise Facelift

When Damani Leech stepped into the role of Broncos team president in the early fall of 2022, he quickly grasped the desires of the fans. From social media to chance encounters at the grocery store, it became evident that supporters were yearning for a fresh update to the team's uniforms after more than 25 years of seeing them in the same attire.

Acknowledging the passion of the fans, Leech and the Broncos' ownership group, who officially acquired the team in August 2022, have been diligently working towards the unveiling of "The Mile High Collection." This marks the first uniform update since 1997 and is a testament to the team's commitment to honoring its championship legacy while embracing innovation and growth during this transformative period in franchise history.

The collection, revealed on Monday, includes three new jerseys in "Sunset Orange, Summit White, and Midnight Navy," each paying homage to the Rocky Mountain region's geography and the team's storied past. Additionally, a retro uniform inspired by the iconic "Orange Crush" era of 1977 was introduced, featuring a blue helmet with the classic "D" logo.

The orange jerseys will serve as the team's home uniform, white as the primary away look, and navy as the alternate threads. The throwback uniform can be worn a maximum of three times during the season, offering various game-day combinations with the option to pair them with three different pants colors.

The jerseys are crafted from Nike's Vapor F.U.S.E. Chassis, a sustainable performance fabric designed to enhance player performance on the field. The intricate details of the uniforms reflect the team's commitment to integrating elements of the past, present, and future while paying tribute to Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region.

From the dissipating triangle perforations symbolizing the thinning air at higher elevations to the "5280" markings representing Denver's mile-high elevation, every aspect of the uniforms is thoughtfully designed to capture the essence of Colorado. The jagged stripes on the pants mirror the state's mountainous topography, while the altered font on the nameplates pays homage to the national park signage found throughout the region.

The helmets underwent a significant change, with a new design featuring smaller stripes running from the crown to the back. The collection includes three helmets, each with unique finishes and details that tie back to the team's history and Colorado's geography. The retro uniforms, in particular, received rave reviews on social media, with many fans advocating for them to become the team's permanent attire.
