Former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher is singing the praises of Chelsea star Cole Palmer, suggesting that he should be a strong contender for Player of the Season following his outstanding performance against Everton.

Palmer, formerly of Manchester City, put on a show by scoring a flawless hat-trick in just 16 minutes, adding a fourth goal from the penalty spot in the second half. His first goal was a breathtaking left-footed curler from outside the box, followed by a close-range header and a superb finish from distance after a gift from Everton goalkeeper Pickford.

With a total of 25 goals and 13 assists in 41 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, Palmer's numbers are truly impressive. In the Premier League alone, he has notched up 20 goals and 9 assists, putting him at the top alongside Manchester City's Erling Haaland.

What sets Palmer apart is his versatility on the field, with 12 of his goals coming from the right wing and 10 while playing as an attacking midfielder. Carragher has taken to expressing his admiration for the young talent, suggesting that he should not only be in contention for the Young Player of the Year award but also for the Player of the Year accolade.

During the halftime analysis on Sky Sports, Carragher continued to laud Palmer's performance, highlighting his exceptional skill and composure. Describing Palmer as one of the standout players in the Premier League this season, Carragher emphasized the quality of his goals against Everton.
