McKade's hockey career took off at Shattuck-St. Mary's, a renowned hockey development program in Minnesota. He went on to play for the Green Bay Gamblers before being drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Joining the Denver Pioneers in 2020, McKade played a key role in their national title win and is now aiming for a second championship.

As McKade and the Pioneers face Boston University in the Frozen Four, the possibility of winning a second national title is within reach. The Michigan Wolverines are also vying for their tenth national title, setting the stage for an exciting semifinal matchup. Makenna, wearing McKade's Denver jersey for luck, will be in the stands cheering on her brother as he strives for collegiate hockey glory.
