Hank Aaron's 715th home run anniversary marked with new statue, stamp, scholarship, and exhibit honoring his legacy in baseball.

The 50th anniversary of Hank Aaron's historic 715th home run was celebrated in grand fashion on Monday, with multiple tributes and announcements honoring the baseball legend. The commemorative events included the unveiling of a new statue at the Baseball Hall of Fame and the release of a new stamp by the U.S. Postal Service featuring Aaron in his Atlanta Braves uniform.

Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred was on hand in Atlanta to pay tribute to Aaron, announcing a $100,000 endowment for a scholarship at Tuskegee University, a historically Black university in Aaron's home state of Alabama. Manfred highlighted the impact of the Henry Louis Aaron Fund, established by the Braves after Aaron's passing in 2021, and the Chasing the Dream Foundation, founded by Aaron and his wife Billye, in promoting diversity in baseball and supporting educational opportunities.

The Atlanta History Center also unveiled a new exhibit honoring Aaron, which will be open to the public until the 2025 All-Star Game in Atlanta. Billye Aaron, who attended the exhibit unveiling, shared her memories of Aaron's record-breaking home run in 1974 and reflected on the impact he had both on and off the field.

In addition to the statue at the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Postal Service announced plans to release a commemorative stamp featuring Aaron, further solidifying his legacy as an American hero. The stamp dedication ceremony will be announced at a later date.

The celebration of Aaron's milestone home run brought together former teammates, fans, and supporters, all of whom shared stories of Aaron's impact on the game of baseball and society as a whole. From his remarkable career achievements to his philanthropic efforts and advocacy for diversity, Hank Aaron's legacy continues to inspire generations of players and fans alike.
