Jermaine Eluemunor, a seasoned right tackle with three seasons under his belt with the Las Vegas Raiders, was one of the Giants' acquisitions. He will be reunited with offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo, who previously worked with him at the Raiders. The other addition is Jon Runyan, a versatile offensive guard who has experience playing on both sides of the line during his time with the Green Bay Packers.

These signings signal a significant shakeup in the Giants' offensive line for the upcoming season. While some familiar faces will remain, changes are expected at three of the five starting positions in the lineup. Andrew Thomas and John Michael Schmitz are likely to hold onto their positions at left tackle and center, respectively. Evan Neal, who played right tackle last season, may move to guard to accommodate Eluemunor. The competition between Neal and Runyan for the starting right tackle spot adds an interesting dynamic to the mix.

Runyan's performance at left guard has been impressive, with a pass-pro grade ranking in the top 15 in 2022. However, his numbers dipped when he shifted to right guard. This history may influence the Giants' decision on where to place Neal, as they aim to optimize their offensive line's performance and protect their quarterback better than the league-worst 85 sacks allowed in the previous season.

General manager Joe Schoen's focus on upgrading the offensive line has been evident in the team's early moves in free agency. The Giants are banking on the improved talent on the front line translating to on-field success in the upcoming season. With a revamped offensive line, the Giants are positioning themselves for a stronger offensive performance in 2024.
