Emma Stone emerged victorious at the 2024 Academy Awards, clinching the prestigious Best Actress award and bringing an end to a thrilling rivalry with Lily Gladstone. The intense competition between the two talented actresses had been ongoing for months, starting at the Golden Globes in January. Stone secured the Best Actress in a Comedy award at the Globes, while Gladstone triumphed in the Drama category.

Although they didn't directly compete at the Globes, the two actresses faced off at various other awards ceremonies. Despite previous nominations for Indigenous actresses like Yalitza Aparicio and Keisha Castle-Hughes, no Native American performer has ever clinched an Oscars acting award.

In the film "Moon," Gladstone portrays Mollie Kyle, a member of the Osage Nation who faces tragedy and loss as her family falls victim to a sinister plot. On the other hand, Stone stars in "Poor," a gender-swapped adaptation of Frankenstein where she plays the monster character. The movie kicked off the night by dominating several design categories, with wins for Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Production Design.

The 2023 Best Actress Oscar was claimed by Michelle Yeoh for "Everything Everywhere All at Once," marking her as the first Asian actress to receive the prestigious award. Emma Stone's victory at the 2024 Academy Awards solidified her status as a powerhouse in the industry and highlighted the exceptional talent of both herself and her fellow nominee, Lily Gladstone.
