Haas declare we can fight this year after F1 Bahrain Grand Prix

Haas F1 team faces challenges at Bahrain Grand Prix, but sees potential for improvement and strong performance in future races.

Haas did not achieve the desired outcome at the Bahrain Grand Prix, but upon closer examination, the Formula 1 team may feel more optimistic about their prospects this season compared to last year.

Nico Hülkenberg, starting in P10, encountered front wing damage on the first turn, leading to an early pit stop and a finish outside the points. Teammate Kevin Magnussen, starting in P15, managed to gain a few positions but still finished outside the points in P12.

Despite the lack of points, the team views the race in Bahrain as a largely positive result, indicating they can compete with the teams around them on the grid. Magnussen mentioned that the car seems better on tires this year, though not necessarily faster than last year, showing improvement in tire management.

Throughout the past two weeks, Haas focused on solving tire degradation issues from the previous season. The team's ability to maintain pace and make progress during the race suggests they may have addressed this challenge successfully.

Hülkenberg, despite a disappointing start, acknowledged the team's progress in race pace and tire degradation compared to other midfield runners. Team Principal Ayao Komatsu also highlighted the team's potential to compete for points in the midfield, indicating a positive outlook for the upcoming Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Looking ahead, Haas aims to build on the lessons learned from Bahrain and deliver a strong performance in Jeddah. Komatsu emphasized the importance of refining strategies and minimizing errors to capitalize on the team's improved foundation. The team is eager to showcase their progress and competitiveness in the next race.
