Red Bull Formula One boss Christian Horner complaint dismissed - stays in charge

Red Bull dismisses misconduct allegations against team principal Christian Horner, ending investigation that has overshadowed the start of F1 season.

Red Bull has dismissed allegations of misconduct against team principal Christian Horner, putting an end to an investigation that has been a major talking point ahead of the Formula 1 season.

The internal investigation cleared Horner of alleged misconduct towards a team employee, allowing him to remain in charge of the champion F1 team. While the details of the allegations have not been made public, the investigation has been a significant distraction leading up to the season-opening race in Bahrain.

The Red Bull parent company released a statement confirming that the independent investigation into the allegations against Horner has been completed and the grievance has been dismissed. They also stated that the investigation report is confidential and will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned.

Despite the distraction, Horner remained in his post, overseeing the team during preseason tests and maintaining a "business as normal" approach. The investigation was also a test of the sport's values, as Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time F1 champion, emphasized the importance of resolving the issue and standing true to the sport's values.

The CEO of Ford Motor Co., set to become Red Bull's engine supplier in 2026, wrote to the team demanding a resolution to the investigation, while rival team principals called for transparency.

Horner has been the Red Bull team principal since 2005, guiding the team to multiple constructors' and drivers' championships. His prominent role in the Netflix docuseries "Drive to Survive" and his combative relationship with other team principals have raised his profile outside of F1.

Despite the investigation, Red Bull's driver, Max Verstappen, remains focused on his bid to win a fourth successive title, with the team working towards more success. The Dutch driver is considered the clear favorite this year, as Red Bull's car has been significantly redesigned.

The announcement from Red Bull clears the way for the team to focus on the upcoming season, with the hope of resolving the investigation soon to ensure a unified team effort and continued success on the track.
