City manager Pep Guardiola stated that Grealish wanted to continue playing, but they were cautious about exacerbating the injury. Tests are scheduled to be conducted to assess the extent of the injury.

This setback comes at a challenging time for Grealish, who was making his first start in six games. He had previously been sidelined with a dead leg and faced tough competition from teammates such as Jeremy Doku and Phil Foden.
