NBA trade deadline: Buddy Hield, Marcus Morris swap places; Gordon Hayward moved - Yahoo Sports

NBA trade deadline is approaching with slow action so far. Several deals have been made, with more expected to come.

The NBA trade deadline is approaching, and there has been some notable activity leading up to the 3 p.m. ET Thursday deadline. While the season started with big trades involving James Harden and Damian Lillard, it has been relatively quiet since then. However, there are still opportunities for teams to make moves that will impact the final two-plus months of the 2023-24 regular season and beyond.

One player to keep an eye on is Atlanta guard Dejounte Murray, who has garnered interest from several teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks. Murray's absence from a recent game due to lower back tightness has only fueled speculation about potential trades involving him.

Several trades have taken place in the lead-up to the deadline, including the New York Knicks acquiring Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Quentin Grimes, Evan Fournier, Malachi Flynn, Ryan Arcidiacono, and two future second-round picks. The Oklahoma City Thunder have also made moves, acquiring Gordon Hayward from the Charlotte Hornets for Tre Mann, Davis Bertans, Vasilije Micic, and draft considerations.

The Washington Wizards have traded center Daniel Gafford to the Dallas Mavericks for Richaun Holmes and draft considerations, while the Utah Jazz have sent Kelly Olynk and Ochai Agbaji to the Toronto Raptors for Kira Lewis, Otto Porter, and a 2024 first-round pick.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been active as well, dealing Danuel House to the Detroit Pistons and acquiring Buddy Hield from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Marcus Morris, Furkan Korkmaz, and multiple second-round picks.

The Detroit Pistons have also been involved in several trades, including acquiring forward Simone Fontechhio from the Utah Jazz for Kevin Knox, a 2024 first-round draft pick, and the draft rights to Gabriele Procida.

In addition to these trades, there have been other notable moves, such as the Memphis Grizzlies sending center Steven Adams to the Houston Rockets for guard Victor Oladipo and three second-round draft picks. The Charlotte Hornets have also traded guard Terry Rozier to the Miami Heat for Kyle Lowry and a protected 2027 first-round draft pick.

The Toronto Raptors have made significant moves as well, trading Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers for three first-round draft picks, Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora, and Kira Lewis Jr. Additionally, the Detroit Pistons acquired Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala from the Washington Wizards for Marvin Bagley, Isaiah Livers, and two second-round draft picks.

The Toronto Raptors have also been active, trading OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Malachi Flynn to the New York Knicks for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a 2024 second-round draft pick.

The Philadelphia 76ers made a major move, sending James Harden, P.J. Tucker, and Filip Petrusev to the Los Angeles Clippers for Nic Batum, Robert Covington, Kenyon Martin Jr., Marcus Morris Sr., two first-round picks (2026, 2028), a first-round pick swap, and two second-round picks in a deal that also involved the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In addition to these trades, the Los Angeles Clippers traded Filip Petrusev and cash considerations to the Sacramento Kings for the draft rights to Luka Mitrovic.

With the trade deadline fast approaching, there are sure to be more moves to come, and USA TODAY Sports will keep you updated with all the latest developments.
