Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and More Achieve Record-Setting Wins at the 2024 Grammy Awards

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards was a night of female dominance, with female artists taking home the top awards in the Big Four categories. This marked the third time in the past five years that female artists have swept the Big Four awards, showcasing their incredible talent and impact on the music industry.

Taylor Swift's album "Midnights" was awarded album of the year, making her the first four-time winner in this category. This win solidified her status as one of the most influential artists of our time. Serban Ghenea, the engineer/mixer on Swift's album, also made history by becoming the first person to win album of the year five times.

Miley Cyrus' song "Flowers" took home record of the year, representing a major breakthrough for Cyrus as a mainstream pop star. Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas won song of the year for "What Was I Made For?", marking their second win in this category. Victoria Monét was awarded best new artist, continuing the trend of female solo artists dominating this category.

Female artists and female-led groups also took home top album awards in various genres, including pop, alternative music, rock, progressive R&B, R&B, and country. Boygenius, SZA, Victoria Monét, and Killer Mike were among the night's top winners, with three awards each.

Trevor Noah hosted the Grammys for the fourth consecutive year, while songwriter Justin Tranter hosted the Premiere Ceremony, where more than 80 of the 94 awards were presented. Killer Mike swept the rap categories, winning best rap album, best rap performance, and best rap song.

Other notable wins included Joni Mitchell's best folk album win, Metallica's best metal performance win, and Michelle Obama's second win for best audio book. The Count Basie Orchestra, directed by Scotty Barnhart, won best large jazz ensemble album, while Dave Chappelle took home his fifth win for best comedy album.
