NFC outlasts AFC in Pro Bowl Games featuring flag football

NFL stars compete in flag football game for Pro Bowl, NFC wins 64-59. Players and fans enjoy the made-for-TV event.

The Pro Bowl Games wrapped up in Orlando, Florida with a flag football game that showcased the talents of NFC and AFC stars. It was a chance for fans and a national TV audience to see what the future Olympic sport could look like with such highly skilled athletes on the field.

The NFC emerged victorious with a 64-59 win over the AFC at Camping World Stadium. The final score was determined by combining points from the flag football game with those accumulated over two days of skills challenges.

Receiver Keenan Allen took a lateral from C.J. Stroud and threw across the field to tight end Evan Engram in the left corner of the end zone, while All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill showcased his world-class speed on the way to scoring a touchdown.

The format of the Pro Bowl game has been reimagined in recent years, replacing the traditional tackle football game. The event has waned in popularity, but this new format has breathed new life into it, with players and the crowd enjoying the made-for-TV spectacle.

Flag football has been added to the Olympic program for the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, and the NFL is exploring the possibility of allowing its players to compete. Stars like Hill and Patrick Mahomes have expressed interest in playing in the Olympics.

The game was a chance for players to have fun and show off their skills, with Tampa Bay's Baker Mayfield winning most valuable offensive player honors. The event also featured sibling rivalry, with Eli Manning coaching the NFC to victory over his brother Peyton Manning, who was on the losing side as coach of the AFC a year ago.

Despite the fun and excitement, the players were competitive and wanted to win. Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II summed it up by saying, "I give it an 8 out of 10 because we didn't win. But at the end of the day, it was fun just being around the game we love and being at a different level playing flag football and with the skills competition and stuff. It was pretty dope."
