Curry Davis NBA All-Star reserves

Stephen Curry and Anthony Davis are among the NBA All-Star reserves, joining a lineup that includes LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard.

The NBA announced the reserves for the All-Star Game, with Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors earning his 10th nod and Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers securing his ninth. Coaches from each conference made the selections, choosing seven reserves for each team. In the West, Minnesota's Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns were both selected, along with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers, and Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns. The West squad will be captained by LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, who has been named an All-Star a record 20 times.

The East reserves include three first-timers: Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers, Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic, and Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks. Julius Randle of the Knicks, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics, Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat were also named as reserves.

The All-Star starters were named last month, with LeBron James breaking the record for the most All-Star selections. He will captain the team, which includes Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. The West starting guards are Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the East, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks was named captain, with Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics joining him in the frontcourt. The East guards are Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers and Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver will select replacements for any players unable to participate in the All-Star Game. The Knicks announced that Randle will miss two to three weeks due to a dislocated shoulder, while the 76ers revealed that Embiid has a meniscus injury in his left knee with no timetable for his return. This means that Silver will have multiple replacements to name for the game.
