Florida not in CBS Sports bracketology before UGA matchup - Yahoo Sports

Florida basketball struggles in January with two losses, missing out on NCAA Tournament bracket. Recent wins not enough to change that.

The Florida basketball team got off to a rough start in January, losing two games in a row in Southeastern Conference play, which knocked them out of the NCAA Tournament bracketologies. However, they have since turned things around and are now on a two-game winning streak.

Despite their recent success, CBS Sports writer Jerry Palm did not include Florida in his latest bracketology update for the 2024 Big Dance. It seems that the team needs a significant win to get back into the conversation, as their recent home win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs was not enough to move the needle.

It has been four updates since Florida was last in Palm's bracket, and they were previously a No. 11 seed in the Midwest bracket. Looking at the rest of the SEC, several other schools from the conference were included in the NCAA Tournament predictions, including Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State.

Mississippi State was also among the last four in and first four while the Georgia Bulldogs were in the first four out category. Former Florida head coach Mike White and the Bulldogs are set to face off with the Gators in Gainesville on Saturday, Jan. 27, in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN2.
