Arkansas had been struggling in SEC games, with previous losses averaging 20.6 points. However, the team showed improved effort and defense in the game against Kentucky, which was a positive sign for Coach Musselman. Despite the loss, the Razorbacks displayed better chemistry and effort, with senior forward Chandler Lawson acknowledging the team's hustle. However, turnovers were still an issue, with 13 turnovers in the game. The Razorbacks' point guard play was also a concern, and the team acknowledged the need for improvement in that area.

Kentucky was led by senior guard Antonio Reeves, who scored 24 points, and freshman guard Reed Sheppard, who added 14 points.
