Luka Doncic put on a historic performance, scoring a franchise-record 73 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a thrilling five-point victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Australian player John Green also contributed with 21 points, two rebounds, and four assists in the game.

Doncic's incredible scoring outburst tied for the fourth most points in NBA history, marking the second 70-point game of the season and the 15th all-time. His impressive performance came just days after Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers scored 70 points in a game.

The Mavericks star surpassed his personal-best and team-record 60 points after an outstanding first half, where he set a franchise record with 41 points. Doncic's record-breaking night occurred just four days after Embiid's franchise-record 70-point game.

With 2:58 remaining in the game, Doncic reached the 70-point mark with a three-point play, and he added another three-point play to cap off his historic performance with Dallas leading 140-136.

Doncic's 73-point game put him in elite company alongside Wilt Chamberlain and David Thompson, making him one of the few players to achieve this remarkable feat. The victory ended the Mavericks' three-game losing streak, while the Hawks suffered their fourth consecutive loss.

The Australian player, John Green, also played a significant role for the Mavericks, contributing 21 points, two rebounds, and four assists. Boomer Dante Exum, another Australian player, had a solid performance with nine points and three assists in the closely contested game.

Trae Young led the Atlanta Hawks with 30 points, including a late 3-pointer that narrowed the Dallas lead to 146-143. Jalen Johnson and Bogdan Bogdanovic also had strong performances for the Hawks, scoring 25 and 24 points, respectively.

Doncic's milestone game took place in his original NBA home, as he was initially selected by the Hawks with the No.3 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft before being traded to the Mavericks for Trae Young and a first-round pick.

The Mavericks superstar's incredible performance showcased his scoring prowess and ability to dominate the game, making him an unstoppable force on the court. His record-breaking night will be remembered as one of the most remarkable performances in NBA history.
