Gilgeous-Alexander Thunder Wembanyama Spurs Win 4th Straight 140-114

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder to a 140-114 victory over the Spurs, overshadowing the battle between Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren.

Oklahoma City had its sights set on victory, even as the focus was on the showdown between San Antonio's Victor Wembanyama and fellow rookie Chet Holmgren. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 32 points and 10 assists, overcoming Wembanyama's 24 points and 12 rebounds to secure a 140-114 win on Wednesday night.

Holmgren contributed 17 points and nine rebounds to Oklahoma City's fourth consecutive victory, leaving them tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves atop the Western Conference at 31-13.

Despite the hype surrounding the matchup between Wembanyama and Holmgren, Oklahoma City coach Mark Daigneault emphasized the team aspect of the sport. However, the unique skills of the two 7-footers made it difficult to ignore the individual battle.

Wembanyama, the No. 1 pick from France, displayed his talent and competitive spirit, despite the loss. He was 9 for 18 from the field, adding four blocks, four assists, and a steal in 28 minutes.
