However, Fritz gained momentum in the third and fourth sets, breaking Tsitsipas four times and ultimately securing a 7-6(3), 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 victory.

The match ended with an unusual incident, as Tsitsipas appeared to wave his arms near the net in an alleged attempt to distract Fritz. Despite this, Fritz successfully made a passing cross-court shot to win the match.

Tennis enthusiasts on social media criticized Tsitsipas for his behavior, describing it as immature and off-putting. Some fans even compared him to a clown and suggested that he may have learned such tactics from other players.

Following his victory over Tsitsipas, Taylor Fritz is set to face Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open quarterfinals on Wednesday, January 24. Fritz has faced Djokovic eight times in the past, with all of his losses coming in straight sets. Despite this, he will be looking to put up a strong performance against the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
