Gypsy Rose Blanchard, convicted of her mother's murder, has been released from prison and has a new documentary and book.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, after serving seven years of a 10-year prison sentence for second-degree murder, has been released on parole. She was sentenced for her role in the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, who was fatally stabbed by her then secret boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, in a plot to kill her after years of abuse related to the controversial condition of Munchausen By Proxy Syndrome.

Dee Dee Blanchard allegedly abused Gypsy Rose for years, convincing her she was disabled and in need of a wheelchair, and that she suffered from multiple conditions that required surgery and medical support, all while she was in fact able to walk and in good health.

Since her release, Gypsy Rose has gained millions of followers on social media, posting on both TikTok and Instagram. If you're looking to learn more about the Gypsy Rose case, the most popular and critically acclaimed documentary is "Mommy Dead and Dearest," which was released in 2017.

Another documentary released in 2019 titled "Gypsy's Revenge" is available to stream on Discovery+, which is available as a Prime Video Channel addition on top of an existing membership from £3.99 per month. At the time of writing, there isn't a Gypsy Rose documentary available on Netflix.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard's story also inspired the eight-part true-crime drama series "The Act," which is available to stream on Lionsgate+ (formerly Starz) as part of Prime Video channels and can be watched with a seven-day free trial. Once the trial ends, the subscription will renew at £5.99 per month on top of your usual Amazon Prime subscription unless you cancel beforehand. In the US, "The Act" is available to stream on Hulu.

Following her release from prison, a new six-hour special titled "The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard" is set to air on US channel Lifetime over the course of three nights starting January 5, 2024. Luckily UK viewers won't have to wait long to watch the highly anticipated special, with the series premiering on the Crime + Investigation channel on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 9pm, with two-hour episodes airing over the course of three weeks on Mondays.

"The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard" will also be streaming on demand via Crime + Investigation Play from January 16, which can be added to your existing Prime Video subscription as an additional Prime Video Channel for £3.99 per month, which will give you access to the series when it's released January 16, along with a number of other true-crime shows.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard also has a new book titled "Released: Conversations on the Eve of Freedom" releasing on January 9, 2024, which will include an exclusive collection of interview transcripts, journal entries, her own illustrations, photos, and numerous writings from her time spent incarcerated.
