Central Illinois basketball scores: Tuesday's results and highlights

High school basketball scores from Tuesday, December 19. Heyworth, Fairbury Prairie Central, and Newton emerge as big winners.

On Tuesday, December 19th, there were several exciting basketball games across the state. In boys basketball, Heyworth secured a 58-40 victory over Bloomington Cornerstone Christian, while Downs Tri-Valley defeated Paxton-Buckley-Loda 47-33. Fairbury Prairie Central also had a strong showing, winning 76-67 against Peoria Christian, and Minonk Fieldcrest emerged victorious with a 75-56 win over Streator Woodland. Other notable results included Clinton's 73-37 win over LeRoy, Mahomet-Seymour's 64-55 victory against Normal West, and Normal Community's 60-49 win over Rock Island.

In girls basketball, Lincoln dominated with a 94-28 win over Decatur Eisenhower, while Mt. Pulaski secured a 48-40 victory against Warrensburg-Latham. Tri-County also had a strong showing, winning 49-36 against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, and LeRoy emerged victorious with a 55-24 win over Macon Meridian.

On Monday, December 18th, there were more thrilling basketball games. In girls basketball, Downs Tri-Valley secured a 56-21 victory over Decatur Unity Christian, while Brimfield defeated Heyworth 45-33. Minonk Fieldcrest also had a strong showing, winning 72-26 against Fisher, and LeRoy emerged victorious with a 51-39 win over Lexington. Other notable results included Champaign St. Thomas More's 51-36 win over Normal Calvary, and El Paso-Gridley's close 47-46 victory against Clinton.

In boys basketball, Champaign St. Thomas More secured a 53-44 victory over Stanford Olympia, while Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond defeated Arthur Christian 59-47, and Heyworth emerged victorious with a 79-62 win over Quest. Overall, it was an action-packed couple of days for basketball fans across the state.
