Joel Embiid scores 35 points as Philadelphia 76ers hand Detroit Pistons their franchise-record 22nd straight loss. San Antonio snaps 18-game losing streak.

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Detroit Pistons 124-92 on Friday, dealing the Pistons their franchise-record 22nd straight loss. The Pistons lost to the 76ers in a home-and-home series, with a 129-111 loss in Detroit on Wednesday. This surpasses the franchise's previous record set at the end of the 1979-80 season and the start of the 1980-81 season. The Detroit streak is the sixth-longest single-season skid in NBA history.

The only teams to have lost more games in a row in a season are the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers (both lost 26 straight), the 1995-96 Vancouver Grizzlies, the 1997-98 Denver Nuggets, and the 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats (all lost 23 in a row). Philadelphia holds the overall record of 28, set at the end of the 2014-15 season and the start of the 2015-16 season.

Joel Embiid scored 35 points and added 13 rebounds for his ninth straight double-double, and Tyrese Maxey added 19 points as the Sixers won their fifth straight game. James Wiseman led the Pistons with 20 points, while Bojan Bogdanovic had 17 as Detroit fell to 2-23 overall.

In another game, the San Antonio Spurs snapped an 18-game losing streak with a 129-115 win over the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers. Devin Vassell scored 36 points, and Victor Wembanyama had 13 points and 15 rebounds. LeBron James returned for the Lakers, scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, after missing Wednesday's game with a bruised left calf. Anthony Davis was out with a hip injury, D'Angelo Russell was out with a migraine, and Cam Reddish was out with right knee soreness.

The Washington Wizards defeated the Indiana Pacers 137-123, snapping a six-game losing streak. Kyle Kuzma scored 31 points, Jordan Poole added 30, and Tyus Jones had his second career triple-double. The New Orleans Pelicans held on to beat the short-handed Charlotte Hornets 112-107, extending their winning streak to three games. Jonas Valanciunas had a season-high 29 points and 13 rebounds, while Zion Williamson added 21 points and 11 rebounds. The Boston Celtics defeated the Orlando Magic 128-111, with Jayson Tatum scoring 30 points and Payton Pritchard adding 21 off the bench. The Atlanta Hawks snapped a five-game losing streak with a 125-104 win over the Toronto Raptors. Trae Young scored 38 points and had 11 assists, while Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 20 points.
