Rapper Cardi B confirms split from husband Offset

Cardi B, the 31-year-old rapper from Washington Heights, revealed in a live video on Sunday night that she has been single for some time now. She mentioned that she had been contemplating making her breakup with Offset public for a while, and alluded to various "clues" that she and Offset dropped on social media, such as unfollowing each other, which may have hinted at their relationship status.

The "WAP" singer expressed her desire to start 2024 with a fresh, open outlook and is curious about a new life and a new beginning. She seemed excited about the prospect.

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus, grew up between Washington Heights and the South Bronx. She married Offset in 2017, and they have two children together.

Offset has faced accusations of infidelity, including claims by rapper Blueface that he had an affair with performer Chisean Rock, which Offset denied. In June, Offset accused Cardi B of infidelity, but later retracted the allegation.

While Cardi B did not elaborate on the reason for their split, she posted a clue online last week that hinted at an imminent formal separation, mentioning that sometimes people outgrow relationships.

In September 2020, Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset, citing "irreconcilable differences," but the case was dismissed in November. She had previously stated on social media that her husband had convinced her they could work things out.

In her live video, Cardi B expressed that she could have taken extreme measures like filing for divorce to teach a lesson, but ultimately decided to stay with Offset. Now, she is embracing the idea of a fresh start and is looking forward to a new chapter in her life.
