Luton Town Man City Hatters plot Citizens upset relegation survival Businessday NG

Luton Town faces Premier League champs Manchester City in crucial survival fight, with Luton aiming to move up in the league.

In a crucial battle for survival in the Premier League, Luton Town, who are facing the threat of relegation, will be facing off against the reigning champions, Manchester City, at Kenilworth Road on Sunday afternoon.

The Hatters are coming into this matchup following a 4-3 defeat to Arsenal in their most recent league game. Gabriel Osho, Elijah Adebayo, and Ross Barkley were the goal scorers for Luton Town in that match.

On the other hand, the Citizens suffered a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in their last league game, with Jamaican winger Leon Bailey scoring the only goal of the game.

As a newly promoted team in the Premier League, Luton has struggled to make an impact and currently finds themselves in 18th place in the league, just one point behind Everton. They have only managed to win one of their last five Premier League games.

Meanwhile, Manchester City is currently sitting in 4th place in the league, seven points behind the leaders, Liverpool. They have gone four games without a win, which is their joint-longest winless streak under manager Pep Guardiola in the Premier League.

In their most recent game, City produced what could be considered their worst performance under Guardiola, with only two shots attempted, the fewest by any team managed by Guardiola in a top-flight league game.

Luton Town has come close to securing points against top teams like Liverpool and Arsenal at their home ground, Kenilworth Road. However, they now face the ultimate test against the struggling European and Premier League champions, Manchester City.

This will be the first time Luton Town will face Manchester City in the Premier League, and a win at Kenilworth Road would see them move up to 17th place, just above Everton in the league standings.
