Dolphins' Hill scores 2 TDs in 45-15 win over Commanders, improving to 9-3 for first time since 2001

Miami Dolphins dominate the Washington Commanders 45-15, with Hill and Tagovailoa leading the way. Miami is 9-3 for the first time since 2001.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill expressed his gratitude for the lack of respect shown by the Washington Commanders' defense after catching a 78-yard touchdown pass. Hill's two touchdowns and 157 receiving yards contributed to the Dolphins' 45-15 victory over the Commanders, solidifying their lead in the AFC East with a 9-3 record. This marks the first time the Dolphins have reached a 9-3 record since 2001.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who completed 18 of 24 passes for 280 yards and two touchdown passes to Hill, emphasized the team's determination to avoid a late-season slump, following a five-game losing streak in December of the previous year. Running back De'Von Achane also made a significant impact, scoring two touchdowns in his return after missing five of the past six games due to a knee injury.

The Dolphins' league-leading offense, which amassed 406 yards in the game, showcased its prowess, while Tagovailoa managed to avoid turnovers after giving the ball away four times in the previous two games. Coach Mike McDaniel commended Tagovailoa's aggressive play and the team's overall performance, extending their winning streak to three games.

In addition to the offensive dominance, the Dolphins' defense contributed to the victory, as linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel scored a 33-yard pick-6 against Washington's quarterback Sam Howell. The Dolphins also recorded three sacks in the absence of Jaelan Phillips, who is sidelined for the season due to an Achilles tendon injury.

Washington, on the other hand, struggled to contain Hill and the Dolphins' offense, resulting in their fourth consecutive loss. Commanders' head coach Ron Rivera expressed his disappointment with the team's performance and emphasized the need for improvement.

Following the convincing victory, the Dolphins are now focused on maintaining their momentum as they prepare to host the Tennessee Titans on Monday, December 11. Meanwhile, the Commanders will face the Los Angeles Rams following their bye week on Sunday, December 17.
