Hawks Trae Young scores 45 points as Spurs lose 13th straight

Trae Young's double-double of 45 points and 14 assists leads the Hawks to a narrow escape over the skidding Spurs.

Trae Young had an incredible game, scoring a season-high 45 points and making 14 assists, helping the Atlanta Hawks narrowly escape with a 137-135 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Dejounte Murray also had an impressive performance, adding 24 points for the Spurs.

The game was a close one, with the Spurs initially leading by 15 points in the first quarter and maintaining a four-point lead heading into the final period. However, the Hawks rallied, and with just over three minutes left to play, the game was tied at 123. It was then that the Hawks took the lead for good, securing the win with some crucial free throws from Young.

Bogdan Bogdanovic contributed 14 points off the bench for the Hawks, while Saddiq Bey, De'Andre Hunter, and Clint Capela all made significant contributions to the team's victory. On the Spurs' side, Jeremy Sochan scored a career-high 33 points, but it wasn't enough to lift the team, which has now lost 13 straight games and finished 1-13 in November.

Despite the loss, Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, and Victor Wembanyama put up solid numbers for the Spurs, with Wembanyama particularly standing out with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
