"Reed Sheppard leads Kentucky to a 95-73 blowout of No. 8 Miami with 21 points, as Wildcats dominate ACC/SEC Challenge."

In a thrilling game on Tuesday night, the 12th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats dominated the 8th-ranked Miami Hurricanes with a final score of 95-73 in the ACC/SEC Challenge. Reed Sheppard led the Wildcats with 21 points, 13 of which came in the second half when Kentucky shot an impressive 67%. Antonio Reeves also made a significant contribution with 18 points.

Sheppard, a freshman, made an impact coming off the bench, showcasing his skills with 5 of 9 from long range and 8 of 13 overall. He also recorded five rebounds, four assists, and three steals in 30 minutes of play, stepping up after starting point guard D.J. Wagner left the game with an ankle injury. Reeves was also a key player for the Wildcats, shooting 7 of 12 from the field.

The Hurricanes, led by Norchad Omier and Wooga Poplar, put up a good fight but were unable to match Kentucky's nearly flawless offensive performance. Miami coach Jim Larrañaga acknowledged that his team played out of character on offense, impacting their defense and ultimately leading to their defeat.

Kentucky's unselfish play was evident with 26 assists, marking the fourth consecutive game with 24 or more assists. They outscored Miami in the paint and on the fast break, emphasizing their dominance on the court.

Looking ahead, Miami will face Notre Dame in their Atlantic Coast Conference opener, while Kentucky will host UNC Wilmington. The Wildcats' impressive performance against Miami has solidified their position as a force to be reckoned with in the ACC/SEC Challenge.
