Hagels OT goal lifts Lightning over Eastern Conference-leading Bruins 5-4

Stamkos scored the tying goal for the Lightning in a 5-4 win over the Bruins. Mangiapane and Andersson rallied the Flames to victory.

The Tampa Bay Lightning pulled off an incredible 5-4 victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Bruins on Monday night. Steven Stamkos scored the game-tying goal with just 4.8 seconds left in regulation, and Brandon Hagel secured the win with an overtime breakaway goal just 1:19 into the extra period. Tanner Jeannot, Nicholas Paul, and Austin Watson also contributed with goals for the Lightning, while Jonas Johansson made 22 saves. Stamkos' goal was set up by Victor Hedman, who also assisted in Hagel's game-winning goal. On the other side, Pavel Zacha, David Pastrnak, John Beecher, and Charlie Coyle scored for the Bruins, with Jeremy Swayman stopping an impressive 41 shots, despite the loss.

In Dallas, the Stars rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat the New York Rangers 6-3. Mason Marchment scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period, with Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski, Tyler Seguin, Sam Steel, and Roope Hintz also finding the back of the net. Scott Wedgewood made 30 saves for the Stars. The Rangers, who came into the game with a four-game winning streak, saw goals from Vincent Trocheck, Kaapo Kakko, and Barclay Goodrow, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Igor Shesterkin stopped 30 shots for the Rangers.

The Florida Panthers rallied to defeat the Edmonton Oilers 5-3, with Niko Mikkola scoring the first two-goal game of his career. Kevin Stenlund also had a three-point effort, and Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett added goals for the Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky made 25 saves for Florida. Connor McDavid scored twice for the Oilers, with Evander Kane also finding the back of the net. Calvin Pickard stopped 27 shots for the Oilers, who fell to 1-10-1 when allowing three or more goals this season.

In Arizona, the Los Angeles Kings extended their season-opening road winning streak to eight games with a 4-1 victory over the Coyotes. Trevor Moore scored two goals, with Anze Kopitar and Phillip Danault also contributing with goals for the Kings. Pheonix Copley made 30 saves for Los Angeles. Lawson Crouse scored the lone goal for the Coyotes, with Connor Ingram making 21 saves in the loss.

The Nashville Predators secured a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche, with Filip Forsberg scoring twice and Yakov Trenin netting the tiebreaking goal with just 21.6 seconds remaining. Jeremy Lauzon also scored for the Predators, and Juuse Saros made 25 saves. On the other side, Valerie Nichushkin, Andrew Cogliano, and Devon Toews scored for the Avalanche, with Cale Makar contributing three assists. Alexandar Georgiev made 27 saves for Colorado.

The Calgary Flames rallied to defeat the Seattle Kraken 4-3 in overtime, with Andrew Mangiapane scoring the tying goal late in regulation and Rasmus Andersson securing the win in the extra period. Elias Lindholm and Jonathan Huberdeau also scored for the Flames. Dan Vladar made 28 saves for Calgary. Jordan Eberle, Jared McCann, and Vince Dunn scored for the Kraken, who have yet to win three straight games this season.

Finally, the Vancouver Canucks defeated the San Jose Sharks 3-1, with Quinn Hughes, J.T. Miller, and Sam Lafferty finding the back of the net for the Canucks. Thatcher Demko made 27 saves for Vancouver. Thomas Hertl scored the lone goal for the Sharks, with Mackenzie Blackwood finishing with 34 saves in the loss.
