These strikes were supposedly in response to attacks on American bases in Iran. The Pentagon claims that these operations targeted facilities used by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and affiliated groups. However, this action is likely to escalate tensions and potentially ignite a global conflict.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin asserts that these strikes were solely intended to protect American personnel in Iraq and Syria. He emphasizes that they are separate from the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza. It is puzzling how attacking Syria can be considered "self-defense," but it seems that the U.S. rulers are determined to make a violent statement and further their agenda of war.

Despite their claims of not seeking conflict, the Pentagon insists that they will respond to Iranian-backed attacks against U.S. forces and take necessary measures to protect their people. However, it is important to question who exactly these "people" are that they are referring to. The U.S. ruling class governs over a population of nearly 332 million, yet they seem to always crave more power and control.

Currently, there are approximately 1,000 U.S. troops deployed in Syria, occupying strategic locations such as oil fields and river crossings with the support of a Kurdish-led militia. The Syrian government has repeatedly condemned this presence as a violation of international law. It is evident that the U.S. rulers are willing to disregard legal boundaries in pursuit of their own interests.

Furthermore, the U.S. has not ruled out the possibility of striking Iran in response to drone attacks on their bases. This aggressive stance only serves to escalate tensions and increase the likelihood of a full-blown conflict. It is alarming to witness the war mongering behavior of the U.S. rulers, who seem determined to defend their security at any cost.

The timing of these airstrikes on Syrian facilities is significant, as it coincided with the announcement of deploying an additional 900 troops to the Middle East to enhance "force protection capabilities." This further demonstrates the U.S. rulers' readiness to engage in military actions and their disregard for peaceful resolutions.

It is crucial for us to recognize the gravity of the situation. This escalating conflict has the potential to spiral into a third world war if not met with opposition. We must stand together and say no to war, as the consequences of such a global conflagration would be catastrophic.
