Notable basketball experts, Shaq and Charles Barkley, also shared their thoughts on Davis' performance. Shaq stressed the importance of consistency and recognized Davis as a high-scoring talent. Barkley, on the other hand, expressed concern about Davis' absence from discussions about the game's elite players. He questioned when Davis would shine brightly again.

Davis had faced criticism after a strong start to the season, where he scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds but struggled in the second half, going scoreless on six field-goal attempts.
