Puka Nacua scores first TD in OT as Rams beat Colts, marking historic start

In a remarkable turn of events, Puka Nacua made a historic impact on his NFL career during Sunday's game. However, what truly matters is that he came through when it counted the most for the Los Angeles Rams.

Nacua sealed the victory with a 22-yard walk-off touchdown in overtime, securing a 29-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts. This marked his first career touchdown, and it couldn't have come at a more crucial moment. Positioned deep in the middle of the field at Lucas Oil Stadium, Nacua found himself wide open and managed to outmaneuver two Colts defenders, fighting his way into the end zone and ultimately ending the game.

This touchdown brought an end to the Colts' impressive 23-point comeback, as they had managed to force overtime with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

Nacua's performance in the game was outstanding. He finished with nine catches, a career-high 163 receiving yards, and, most notably, his first touchdown. This brought his total receiving yards for the season to an impressive 501, making him the second-highest among all wide receivers in the league. Only Just Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, who had 85 yards and two touchdowns in their game against the Carolina Panthers, has more receiving yards.

Nacua's achievements don't end there. In just his first four games in the NFL, he has already made history. With 39 receptions, three games with over 100 receiving yards, and a total of 501 receiving yards, Nacua is the first player in NFL history to achieve such a feat. His impact has been undeniable, and he has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with.

The Rams drafted Nacua in the fifth round of the NFL Draft this year from BYU. With Cooper Kupp starting the season on injured reserve, Nacua was thrust into the starting lineup right away. He made an immediate impact, with 119 receiving yards on 10 catches in their season-opening win against the Seattle Seahawks, followed by 147 yards on 15 catches in Week 2. Although he had a slightly less impressive performance with 72 receiving yards in their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last week, Nacua has consistently showcased his talent and potential.

In Sunday's game, quarterback Matthew Stafford also had an impressive performance, going 27-of-40 for 319 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He has thrown for at least 260 yards in each of the first four games this season. Additionally, running back Kyren Williams contributed significantly with 103 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.

Looking ahead, while Kupp is expected to return from injured reserve soon, Nacua's presence on the team is invaluable. With a healthy Kupp and Nacua, the Rams' offense has the potential to reach new heights as they enter the middle stretch of the season.
