Bruce Springsteen postpones 2023 tour dates due to peptic ulcer disease

His medical advisors advised him to postpone his September concerts, and now it has been decided that the shows scheduled for the rest of the year will also be rescheduled.

Peptic ulcer disease is a condition that can be easily treated, but if left untreated, it can lead to serious complications such as internal bleeding, stomach wall erosion, or even stomach cancer. This disease occurs when the acid in the stomach or small intestine erodes the lining, resulting in the formation of an ulcer.

The most common symptom of peptic ulcer disease is stomach pain, although some individuals may not experience any symptoms at all, as reported by the Mayo Clinic. The disease is often caused by a bacterial infection or by long-term use of anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen, Advil, and Aleve. It is important to note that stress and spicy foods do not directly cause peptic ulcers, but they can exacerbate symptoms.

On a specific date (X Wednesday), Springsteen's team provided an update on his condition. They stated that he has been steadily recovering from peptic ulcer disease and will continue treatment for the remainder of the year based on his doctor's advice. As a precautionary measure, all remaining tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band in 2023 will be postponed until 2024.
