'Ohio State football Marvin Harrison Jr. injury during Notre Dame game'

Ohio State football player Marvin Harrison Jr. suffered a lower leg injury during a game against Notre Dame but returned to play after receiving medical attention.

In a game against Notre Dame, Ohio State football faced a challenge with Marvin Harrison Jr. not being able to contribute much due to the defensive strategy employed by the Irish. However, it seemed like Ohio State would have to continue without him for the remainder of the game after he suffered an injury in the third quarter and had to be assisted off the field.

Fortunately, the All-American quickly returned to the game, despite having a heavily taped right ankle. He immediately lined up in the slot and made a catch on his first play back. The injury occurred during TreVeyon Henderson's 61-yard touchdown run, which gave Ohio State a 10-0 lead in the third quarter.

After the injury, Harrison went to the medical tent for a few minutes, and when he came back, his ankle was heavily taped. He attempted to test the injury by running along the sideline. It remains uncertain whether he will be able to continue playing, as Notre Dame's offense has not left the field since the incident.

The injury occurred when Harrison was blocking Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison on the perimeter. As the play unfolded, Irish safety Xavier Watts rolled into Harrison from behind, causing his ankle to roll up. Harrison remained on the field in pain for a few minutes before being assisted off by athletic trainers.

Interestingly, Harrison had previously revealed that he played most of last season with an injury to the same right ankle. Despite this setback, Notre Dame had strategically kept Watts focused on Harrison throughout the game, providing additional coverage for their cornerbacks Morrison and Cam Hart. In the first half, Harrison had only one reception for 7 yards on two targets.

Ohio State has faced similar situations in the past, having played important games without Harrison due to injuries. In the Peach Bowl playoff semifinal against Georgia, he was knocked out of the game after a hard hit and was not cleared to return due to concussion protocol.
