Former NBA player Brandon Hunter dies at age 42. The cause of death is currently unknown.

Former NBA player Brandon Hunter tragically passed away on Tuesday at the age of 42, as announced by the Orlando Magic. The exact cause of his death is currently unknown, leaving fans and loved ones in shock and mourning.

Hunter had an impressive career, starting with his time at Ohio University where he showcased his talent for four years. This led to him being drafted in the second round of the 2003 NBA Draft by the Celtics. In his rookie season, Hunter played in 36 games, averaging 3.5 points and 3.3 rebounds. However, his journey continued when he was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats in the expansion draft the following summer.

During the 2004-05 season, Hunter joined the Orlando Magic, where he played in 31 games and averaged 3.1 points and 2.2 rebounds. The Magic expressed their deep sadness over the loss of their former teammate and extended their condolences to the entire Hunter family.

Hailing from Cincinnati, Hunter was a standout forward during his college days at Ohio. His exceptional skills earned him a place on the All-Mid-American Conference Freshman Team in 2000, and he went on to make three consecutive appearances on the All-MAC First Team. The Ohio basketball community also expressed their sorrow, acknowledging Hunter as a legend and sending their thoughts to his family.

After his time in the NBA, Hunter continued his basketball career overseas, playing in Greece, Italy, Puerto Rico, and Turkey. Eventually, he returned to his hometown of Cincinnati after retiring from professional basketball in 2013. Hunter then embarked on a new chapter, establishing a real estate and sports management company.

In an interview with WCPO in 2017, Hunter reflected on his career and shared his decision to pursue management instead of coaching. With his extensive knowledge of the NBA's collective bargaining agreement and his experiences abroad, he believed that management was where he could truly thrive and make a difference.

Brandon Hunter's untimely passing has left a void in the basketball community. His dedication, talent, and passion for the sport will always be remembered. As we mourn the loss of a remarkable individual, we also celebrate the legacy he leaves behind.
