When it comes to Michigan State's week 1 game against Central Michigan, emotions ran high for many fans. Simply looking at the final stats wouldn't capture the roller coaster of emotions experienced throughout the game. Although the team came out on top, it wasn't without its fair share of tense moments.

During the first half, the score remained deadlocked at 0-0 with the Chippewas, and there was even a brief moment when State trailed. As halftime approached, unease settled over East Lansing. However, the second half brought a wave of relief as the floodgates opened and the Spartans gained control.

Heading into the game, two key positions were under scrutiny: the MSU quarterback and the defensive backfield. Fans' perception of these positions may have shifted depending on their initial expectations.

In the end, the Spartans not only met but exceeded expectations. Noah Kim, the first-year starter, showcased his skills by throwing two touchdowns and accumulating an impressive 279 passing yards. While his accuracy may have been lacking at times, he seemed to find his rhythm as the game progressed.

On the defensive side, the backfield showed signs of improvement. Although Central Michigan may not have provided the toughest test, attempting only 25 passes with none exceeding 17 yards, it's worth acknowledging the progress made. The overall defense struggled with tackling, but the secondary held their own and fulfilled their responsibilities.

In our latest SB Nation Reacts survey, we're eager to hear the thoughts of MSU fans. Which half of the game better represents the true capabilities of this Michigan State team? With Kim officially named the starter just before the game, has he put the quarterback battle to rest? And do you have more confidence in the secondary after this game?

Share your insights now and stay tuned for the survey results later this week. Your voice matters!
