FSU football: Assessing Seminoles' comeback potential following clash with LSU

Florida State's football team is hoping to prove they are back on top with a win against LSU in their upcoming game.

Despite this, Sunday night's top-10 showdown between the Seminoles and LSU is highly anticipated. If the No. 8 Seminoles can defeat the No. 5 LSU team, then it may be time to start discussing whether FSU is truly back.

LSU has come a long way since last year's game in New Orleans. Under new head coach Brian Kelly, the team has transformed into a serious playoff contender. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, who was previously unknown, is now the first-team preseason all-SEC quarterback. Linebacker Harold Perkins has also emerged as a star player and a preseason All-American. Kelly has bolstered the roster with a strong transfer class.

However, FSU has also made significant improvements. Defensive end Jared Verse and linebacker Harold Perkins have both been named preseason All-Americans. Quarterback Jordan Travis has elevated his game and has the potential to be even better in his final season. Receiver Johnny Wilson and running back Trey Benson have proven themselves as talented players.

Norvell has the opportunity to prove that FSU is back with a win on Sunday. While the team ended last season on a six-game winning streak, most of those victories came against teams with losing records. There are still questions about the team's ability to compete at an elite level.

Verse, however, is confident in the team's abilities and believes they can contend for the playoff. He believes that if they play to their full potential and work together as a team, no one can stop them.

LSU poses a significant challenge for FSU, making this matchup even more exciting than last year's game. Both teams have reestablished themselves as top contenders and have talented rosters capable of competing for championships.

Norvell embraces the high expectations placed on the program and believes that FSU should strive for greatness every year. It has taken time, but the Seminoles have finally returned to their former glory in Tallahassee. Now, they must prove that they deserve these expectations and show that they are truly back.
