Louisville Football 2023 Predictions: Card Chronicle Staff Forecasts Game-by-Game Results

Louisville football team predicts their game-by-game outcomes for the upcoming season, with mixed results and high hopes for success.

It's Game Day, folks! Before we dive into tonight's action, the Card Chronicle team, also known as the "Chronrades" (although we don't really use that term), has their game-by-game predictions for the entire football season ready. This year, we're shaking things up and ranking the predictions based on who had the most accurate predictions last year, rather than who's the coolest. Let's see how it all played out:

Kevin Wright: 9 out of 12
Matt Sefcovic: 7 out of 12
Cardinal Strong: 6 out of 12
Conor Shea: 6 out of 12
Seedy K: 5 out of 12

Well, that's our worst showing yet, except for Kevin who did pretty well. The rest of us struggled in the first three games. But hey, that's the magic of Scott Satterfield for you. Now, I'm excited to announce that Keith Wynne's predictions are back this year after taking a break last season because I asked him way too late. Without further ado, let's get into it.

@ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: Friday, September 1st
Keith Wynne - Georgia Tech showed some promise last year, but they have a lot of new players this time around. Louisville's going to take this one. Louisville 42 - Georgia Tech 17

Kevin Wright - The Cards may start slow under the new era of Jeff Brohm, but they'll pick up steam and win easily. Louisville 34 - Georgia Tech 20

Matt Sefcovic - Two new coaches, two new systems. It's going to be messy at the start, but Louisville has the edge. Louisville 34 - Georgia Tech 27

John (Cardinal Strong) - You think this team is going to let Georgia Tech ruin the 'Brohm Years' opener? Nah, I don't think so. Louisville 30 - Georgia Tech 21

Conor Shea - I'm a bundle of nerves for this game because I want the Brohm Era to start with a bang. If we didn't lay eggs in the last two openers, I'd be more confident. But our talent and depth will give us the win in the second half. Louisville 37 - Georgia Tech 21

Seedy K - The Cards haven't won a kickoff game. The Cards haven't beaten the Ramblin' Wreck. New season, new results. Call Coach Brohm "Coach Prime". Louisville 34 - Georgia Tech 20

Murray State Racers: Thursday, September 7th
Keith Wynne - This is the perfect opportunity for the Cards to get everything in order. Louisville 56 - Murray State 14

Kevin Wright - L&N Cardinal Stadium will be packed, and the Cards will put on an offensive show. Louisville 56 - Murray State 10

Matt Sefcovic - Murray State has a long trip back to Calloway County. The checks might clear, but they won't leave happy. Louisville 52 - Murray State 14

John (Cardinal Strong) - If the Cards struggle in week one, this could get ugly. They closed Churchill in the spring, they might need to close L&N Stadium after this. Louisville 49 - Murray State 10

Conor Shea - Thursday night against Murray State is going to be a wild one. Best crowd since the Lamar Jackson days. Louisville 56 - Murray State 10

Seedy K - I was there when U of L lost to the Racers. Not happening again on Thursday. Louisville 54 - Murray State 10

Indiana Hoosiers: Saturday, September 16th
Keith Wynne - IU is going downhill, poor offense. But their defense might keep them closer than we expect. Louisville 28 - Indiana 13

Kevin Wright - Indiana tried to dodge us, but they can't resist another matchup with Jeff Brohm. Our defense shuts them down and we remain unbeaten. Louisville 38 - Indiana 17

Matt Sefcovic - Michael Pennix ain't joining this party. It might get so ugly that Dakich breaks down crying on Monday. Louisville 38 - Indiana 10

John (Cardinal Strong) - Jeff Brohm never loses to Indiana. He beats them with an average of 54.2 points (trust me, don't bother looking it up). The rivalry with Kentucky may be intense, but beating Indiana always holds a special place in his heart. Louisville 35 - Indiana 17

Conor Shea - Indiana clearly wanted out of this series. Can't blame them. Louisville 35 - Indiana 14

Seedy K - Last time the Cardinals played one of those Big Whatever schools was in 2017, when they beat Purdue. This game is in Indy. Victory celebration with pastrami, latkes, and carrot cake. Louisville 27 - Indiana 14

Boston College Eagles: Saturday, September 23rd
Keith Wynne - Last year was a disappointment, but it sparked a change and a more consistent season. This year, we start strong and get the win. Louisville 34 - Boston College 10

Kevin Wright - Revenge is in the air for UofL's ACC home opener after that painful loss last season. Our offense shines and we break into the top 25. Louisville 44 - Boston College 23

Matt Sefcovic - We always dominate Boston College on the diamond, let's do it on the field too. Close game, but the Cards come out on top. Louisville 34 - Boston College 27

John (Cardinal Strong) - The Cards are rolling and it's their first Saturday home game. The excitement, the buzz... almost gets them sleepwalking into a nightmare situation. But they wake up just in time. Louisville 17 - Boston College 14

Conor Shea - Last year's loss to BC was just dumb. But Satt isn't here anymore, and neither is Zay Flowers. Louisville 31 - Boston College 17

Seedy K - Even if the Eagles double up on that testosterone stuff Flutie's always babbling about, it won't be enough. Flutie's 60 now, but he's not playing. The Cardinals won't match his age on the scoreboard, but they'll score plenty. Louisville 42 - Boston College 10

@ N.C. State Wolfpack: Saturday, September 29th
Keith Wynne - Louisville's defense faces their first real challenge, and they don't pass. State's offense is going to cause some headaches with their passing and running game. Our usual mojo just won't be enough. N.C. State 38 - Louisville 31

Kevin Wright - Raleigh has never respected the Cards... [continues]
