In 2013, the music world was shocked when Watkins pleaded guilty to the attempted rape of a baby and ten other sex offenses. He specifically targeted his fans, with two even offering their babies to him for abuse. Watkins discussed his desire to "cross the line" and abuse babies with their mothers in text and internet messages. He also expressed his desire to blow crystal meth smoke into the face of a child victim. A sickening 17-minute video presented in court showed Watkins performing a sex act on a child in a London hotel room. He was described as a "determined and committed pedophile" and was sentenced to 29 years in prison for his crimes. Watkins pleaded guilty to 13 child sex offenses, including rape and sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, as well as conspiring to rape a child, sexual assault involving children, and possession of indecent images of children. He also possessed an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.

The incident at HMP Wakefield serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by high-profile prisoners, especially those convicted of heinous crimes like Watkins.
