Nolan Arenado, the talented third baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, finds himself at the center of trade rumors as the deadline approaches. After being traded from the Colorado Rockies in the previous offseason, he chose to waive an opt-out clause in his contract to remain in St. Louis. And if I didn't feel that way I definitely wouldn't have done that. It's a business. I don't know how it goes. I do love St. Louis. My family loves it. So, we just want to turn it around."

Currently, the Cardinals find themselves in fourth place in the National League Central Division, a weak division where they are seemingly out of the postseason picture. They are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline. While Arenado has the ability to veto any trade, it is worth noting that he hails from Southern California. Given the opportunity, he would likely waive his no-trade clause to join the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Although Arenado may not be having his best season statistically, he still represents a significant upgrade over Max Muncy, the Dodgers' current third baseman. Muncy has struggled defensively in 2023, while Arenado is known for his exceptional defensive skills. Additionally, Arenado has been a consistent offensive threat throughout his career, boasting a .287 batting average with 22 home runs and 77 RBI this season. Furthermore, he brings an impressive collection of accolades, including 10 National League Gold Gloves and six Platinum Gloves. In comparison, Muncy has a .197 batting average with 25 home runs and 67 RBI, along with 15 errors in 80 games at third base.

Considering Arenado's defensive prowess and his offensive contributions, his addition to the Dodgers would undoubtedly bolster their struggling pitching staff. While the trade rumors continue to swirl, it remains to be seen whether a deal will materialize.
