In a statement released by Leagues Cup and stadium officials, it was announced that ticket-holding fans would not be allowed to witness the conclusion of the game in person. This decision was made to prioritize the safety and well-being of players, staff, and fans, considering the tight turnaround.

For those who had tickets for the match, they will not be able to re-enter the venue for the final 30-plus minutes. However, there are alternative ways to catch the action. The game will be available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, where the broadcast originated. Additionally, ESPN 1530 will provide the local radio broadcast for the conclusion of the game.

The match is scheduled to resume at 2 p.m. from where it was paused, with 59:39 on the game clock. FC Cincinnati currently holds a 2-0 lead, with both goals scored by Brandon Vazquez.

According to tournament officials, the match will resume in accordance with Article 10.8 of the Leagues Cup 2023 Competition Regulations. This means that the game must continue with the same score, in the same minute it was interrupted (60th minute), and with the same players on the field and substitutes available. Any remaining substitutions allowed at the time of the suspension can still be made, and any sanctions imposed during the match will be upheld.

A victory for FC Cincinnati in this match will secure the top spot in their three-team group, the "Central 3." This would result in a home knockout round match for FC Cincinnati at TQL Stadium, although the opponent, date, and time are yet to be announced. Chivas, on the other hand, will face Sporting Kansas City on Monday to determine the runner-up in the group.
