"Raiders' Maxx Crosby Shares Powerful Reaction to Marcus Peters' Signing: Fans Go Wild!"

Marcus Peters signs one-year contract with Las Vegas Raiders, brings experience and Pro Bowl pedigree to defense.

Marcus Peters, the veteran cornerback, has officially joined the Las Vegas Raiders after weeks of speculation. The team announced on July 24 that Peters has signed a one-year contract. This acquisition immediately adds experience and a Pro Bowl pedigree to the Raiders' defense, making Peters one of the most seasoned defenders on the team. The only other players on the defense who have made Pro Bowls are Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones, both defensive ends.

Crosby, in particular, is excited about Peters joining the team. He took to Twitter shortly after the news broke, posting a picture of a Peters jersey and expressing his anticipation for Peters to don the silver and black. He warmly welcomed the cornerback to Las Vegas. With veterans reporting to training camp on July 25, Crosby and Peters will have the opportunity to join forces as teammates in no time.

Notably, Marcus Peters joins his cousin Marshawn Lynch and wide receiver Davante Adams as fellow Oakland-area natives who have been able to sign with the Raiders. Despite the team now being based in Las Vegas, Peters still holds a deep affection for the franchise. In a video posted on his Instagram on July 24, Peters expressed his excitement about joining the team he grew up watching. He believes that the Raiders have always believed in him and that he can make a significant impact.

Peters, who was 10 years old the last time the Raiders won a playoff game, is well aware of the team's struggles over the past two decades. He is determined to be part of the group that turns things around and establishes a winning culture. In a video shared by the Raiders' Twitter account on July 24, Peters emphasized the need to raise the standard and create a "sick" culture of excellence.

Throughout his career, Peters has consistently been a part of playoff-contending teams, with the exception of the 2021 season when he missed the entire year due to a torn ACL. His arrival in Las Vegas brings valuable experience as a winner and a leader to a young secondary that lacks a cornerback with significant starting experience.

With 103 regular season starts under his belt, Marcus Peters is undoubtedly the most seasoned cornerback on the Raiders' roster. Despite joining the team late in the offseason, he is expected to secure one of the starting outside cornerback positions, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic. Reed notes that Peters, being an Oakland native and a lifelong Raiders fan, is reuniting with his beloved team. Moreover, his presence brings stability to a cornerback room that lacked clear answers during OTAs. The Raiders now have at least one established starting outside cornerback with Peters on board.

Although Peters had a slightly underwhelming season in 2020 with just one interception and six passes defended, the Raiders are confident in his ability to return to form. In 2020, he recorded four interceptions and nine passes defended. If he can replicate that level of performance, Peters will significantly bolster the Raiders' defense.
