The Minnesota Vikings are currently gathering more information regarding rookie Jordan Addison after he was pulled over for speeding. In the early hours of Thursday morning, Addison, who was a first-round pick in April, was stopped by the Minnesota State Patrol for driving 140 miles per hour in a zone with a speed limit of 55mph.

According to the incident report, Addison was pulled over by the State Highway Patrol on the I-94 in St. Paul shortly after 3am. The trooper conducted a traffic stop and identified Addison as the driver. He was then issued a citation for speed and reckless driving as he was found to be driving 85mph over the speed limit while heading eastbound. The investigation is still ongoing.

Following the release of the incident report, the Vikings issued a statement on Thursday afternoon, acknowledging the traffic incident involving Addison and stating that they are currently gathering additional information. The NFL has placed a strong emphasis on safe driving after a tragic car crash involving former Las Vegas Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III, who was driving under the influence at high speeds and caused the death of a young woman and her dog.

Addison, who had an impressive college career at Pittsburgh and USC, is expected to be a key offensive weapon for the Vikings alongside Justin Jefferson. However, he has been dealing with an undisclosed injury since being drafted earlier this year. Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell assured that the team is taking a cautious approach with Addison's injury, describing it as a day-to-day issue that they are working through. Despite the injury concern, Addison is still expected to start opposite Jefferson.

The Vikings selected Addison with the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and their training camp is set to begin next week. The team will continue to gather information on the traffic incident involving Addison and will likely take appropriate action based on the findings.
