Currently, the Bronx Bombers hold the third wildcard position on the junior circuit with 48 wins and 38 losses, boasting a two-game lead over the Toronto Blue Jays. However, Cordero's suspension for 76 games could significantly impact the team's bullpen and overall performance.

The reason behind Cordero's suspension lies in his violation of MLB's domestic violence policy. As a consequence, he will now be required to attend a treatment program and undergo a thorough evaluation, the details of which remain confidential. This is not the first time the Yankees have dealt with a domestic violence incident involving one of their players.
