In a shocking turn of events, three relatives of seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson have been found dead in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The Muskogee police have confirmed the shooting deaths of husband and wife Jack and Terry Janway, aged 69 and 68 respectively, as well as their 11-year-old grandson Dalton Janway. The bodies were discovered on Monday at their residence, located approximately 50 miles southeast of Tulsa.

According to Lynn Hamlin, a spokesperson for the Muskogee police, investigators believe that Terry Janway was responsible for the tragic incident. The authorities were alerted to the situation when a woman made a distressing call to 911, reporting a disturbance involving a firearm. However, the call abruptly ended before any further information could be obtained. Law enforcement promptly arrived at the scene and discovered one individual near the front door of the residence. Moments later, a gunshot was heard from inside the house. Upon further investigation, two additional bodies were found.

Lynn Hamlin has confirmed that the deceased individuals are the parents and nephew of Chandra Janway, Jimmie Johnson's wife. In light of this tragedy, Johnson's race team, Legacy Motor Club, took to Twitter to announce the withdrawal of his No. 84 Carvana Chevrolet from the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series event in Chicago. The team emphasized the family's request for privacy during this difficult time and expressed that no further statements would be issued.

The NASCAR community has expressed its profound sadness and extended its support and condolences to Chandra, Jimmie, and both the Johnson and Janway families. In a statement, NASCAR stated, "We are saddened by the tragic deaths of members of Chandra Johnson's family. The entire NASCAR family extends its deepest support and condolences during this difficult time to Chandra, Jimmie, and the entire Johnson & Janway families."

This heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through the racing world and the community of Muskogee.
